Edison Student Dies Suddenly Wednesday Night
A crisis team is at the school to assist the grieving community
A student at Thomas Edison High School died suddenly last night, according to Paul Regnier, coordinator for the Fairfax County Public Schools media and crisis team.
Regnier said a crisis team was currently at the school helping the community with the news.
While the school has its own social workers and counselors to assist with the case of any student death, Regnier said that FCPS could reach out to more workers if they were needed.
“They’re there in case there are any students or adults who are having trouble dealing with the death," he said.
Regnier said Principal Greg Croghan and the school were working on a statement to release to the community.
This story will be updated as more information becomes available.

Rest in Peace, dear girl. To the friends, family and students left behind, please know you can overcome any adversity. Seek support from someone you trust and can confide in. No one is alone in this world.

Even though I never knew Alyssa very well, this was really devestating... ans still is. I'm a freshmen and at first, I didn't understand how this happened. Later, I saw many pictures of her and she seemed extremely thrilled and happy full of energy. She was with so many friends doing so many fun activities that I never did, but now she's gone. One of my friends who had drama class told me she was always happy and cheerful and enjoyed doing great things with other students. She was shocked that this had happened too.
From other mysterious threads from different people, they didn't know how sad this event was and they did not know how it felt to lose someone beloved. I do imagine and know how painful it is to lose someone you love deeply. I never knew Alyssa, but I know she is up in heaven, because she was very blessed, very awesome. All of those seniors and friends of Alyssa will remember Alyssa for the beautiful young girl she was. Rest in peace Alyssa Jupin.
